Purpose of the Role:
The Construction Coordinator is accountable for the planning, coordination, integration, and execution of modular plant assembly activities from fabrication completion through to commissioning readiness and project handover.
The role ensures that all materials, documentation, resources, equipment, subcontractors, and construction activities are aligned to the project schedule and executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality requirements.
The Construction Coordinator acts as the central integration point between Engineering, Procurement, Material Control, Fabrication, Quality, and Site Teams, ensuring that modular assemblies are delivered in a controlled and predictable manner while supporting overall project delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Construction Planning and Readiness
- Develop and maintain construction and assembly execution plans.
- Define assembly sequences and installation methodologies.
- Establish resource requirements for assembly and construction activities.
- Coordinate construction schedules with project delivery schedules.
- Ensure all prerequisites are in place before assembly activities commence.
- Coordinate all modular assembly activities within fabrication facilities and at site.
- Ensure assembly activities are executed according to approved drawings and procedures.
- Monitor progress against assembly schedules.
- Coordinate interfaces between disciplines during assembly.
- Resolve construction and assembly constraints impacting delivery.
- Drive daily and weekly execution planning meetings.
- Ensure all required IFC documentation is available before work commences.
- Coordinate construction queries and technical clarifications.
- Manage the flow of engineering information to construction teams.
- Escalate design issues impacting assembly activities.
- Ensure construction activities remain aligned with approved designs.
- Coordinate with Material Control and Project Engineers to ensure material availability.
- Verify material readiness against construction schedules.
- Monitor shortages, late deliveries, and missing components.
- Coordinate internal logistics and movement of materials.
- Ensure traceability of materials throughout assembly activities.
- Coordinate subcontractors performing assembly and construction work.
- Monitor subcontractor productivity and performance.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with project requirements.
- Manage interfaces between multiple contractors and vendors.
- Escalate performance issues and support resolution.
- Develop detailed construction look-ahead schedules.
- Monitor progress against planned activities.
- Identify schedule risks and recovery opportunities.
- Coordinate sequencing between work fronts.
- Maintain visibility of critical path construction activities.
- Adjust plans to optimise/maintain delivery when unexpected blocks appear.
- Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications and procedures.
- Coordinate inspection and test activities.
- Ensure completion of quality records and documentation.
- Drive resolution of construction-related NCRs.
- Support turnover and handover activities.
- Promote safe work practices throughout assembly and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with company and client HSE requirements.
- Coordinate risk assessments and safe work planning.
- Monitor adherence to permits and safety procedures.
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Coordinate completion of construction punch lists.
- Ensure systems are mechanically complete.
- Support commissioning teams during start-up activities.
- Coordinate turnover packages and completion dossiers.
- Ensure smooth transition from construction to commissioning.
- Identify risks affecting construction execution.
- Maintain a construction risk register.
- Implement mitigation and recovery plans.
- Escalate critical issues impacting schedule, safety, cost, or quality.
- Drive resolution of cross-functional execution issues.
- Provide regular reporting on:
- Construction progress

- Safety performance
- Construction risks
- Maintain visibility of critical construction milestones.
- Interface with Project Managers regarding execution status.

Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years progressive experience in coordinating engineering to fabrication to client delivery.
- Strong understanding of modular plant construction and assembly methodologies.
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary construction activities (Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Piping).
- Strong planning and scheduling capability.
- Understanding of fabrication-to-construction workflows.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction quality requirements and turnover processes.
- Strong contractor management capability.
- Strong understanding of material management and logistics coordination.
- Knowledge of construction HSE requirements and site controls.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and ERP systems.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced EPC/EPS project environment.
